Betting Odds On Chelsea’s Chances Of Winning The FA Cup And Qualifying For The Knockout Round Of The Champions League

Premier League side Chelsea have been drawn against Nottingham Forest for the third round of the FA Cup, with Frank Lampard’s men poised to begin their campaign in January after what will be a busy domestic period in the top flight.

Despite hitting a bit of a slump prior to Wednesday’s win over Aston Villa, the Blues have certainly exceeded expectations under Lampard this season and they’re now thought to be a lock for the top four, although Jose Mourinho’s Spurs could possibly make things a bit difficult if they slip up.

Chelsea are currently banned from making transfers, a sanction that could be lifted in the coming days following an appeal hearing. They’re also headed by a manager who’s only just getting his feel of what it’s like working in the Premier League after completing his first year as a head coach at Derby last season.

The Premier League title looks to be Liverpool’s at the moment; the Anfield side have opened up an eight-point gap at the top of the standings after their win against Everton on Wednesday, while the Blues have already been knocked out of the Carabao Cup. They certainly aren’t favoured to win the Champions League and aren’t even sure of qualification for the knockout stages as that’s set to go down to the wire in what will be a deciding fixture against Lille next Tuesday.

The FA Cup remains Chelsea’s only realistic avenue for silverware this term and they’re thought to have a good enough chance by the bookies. The Stamford Bridge outfit have been attached to odds of 8/1 by Bet365 but you could get a slightly better bet with Betvictor, who are offering 9/1 on that front.

Fans unsure of which sportsbook they should favour would likely be happy to know that freebets.co.uk offers free reviews for all the top UK bookmakers where football betting is concerned, as well as betting on all other major sports.

Manchester City are the current favourites to win the FA Cup at 3/1 with Skybet while the Reds are also right up there at 11/2 with Ladbrokes. Mourinho’s Tottenham are 7/1 with William Hill.

Skybet also have offers as it pertains to who the four semi-finalists will be. Arsenal/Chelsea/Manchester City/Tottenham is 66/1 at the moment but there are several other combinations to bet on.

You could get 80/1 on Chelsea/Manchester City/Manchester United/ Tottenham while there’s 100/1 going on Chelsea/Manchester City/Tottenham/West Ham and Chelsea/Manchester City/Manchester United/Wolves.

As for the Blues’ UCL chances, they’re 2/11 favourites over Lille with Bet365, who have 12/1 odds on offer on a win for the French side and 6/1 on a draw. They’re only 10/3 to win their Group H bracket with Ladbrokes, though, with Ajax thought to be the side best positioned to win it at 4/7 with William Hill and Valencia at 3/1 with Skybet.

The bookies have Ajax and Chelsea as the favourites for qualification at 1/8 and 1/7 respectively.

If you’re impressed enough by Lampard’s young Blues side to want to bet on them, there are interesting odds going around on the two aforementioned competitions. You could also back them to finish in the Premier league’s top four with a 4/11 bet from Paddy Power.
