Still
no bracelets for the British. Roland de Wolfe finished third after playing well
all afternoon. Losing two pots just before the dinner break, he never showed
his cards either time, left him with too much catching up to eventual winner,
Dragon Pham.
I cannot promise you too much
tomorrow. There is a $1500 NLHE in progress although I am hard pressed to name
any British players.
Ralph Perry won the PLO event
after a long heads up dual with George Abdallah. Ralph wins $208k. He wants to
give the bracelet to his son. His wife Merry told the crowd that she was
keeping it herself. Ralph is the quiet man in this marriage.
Peter Costa
finished 14th and earned $11k although he put $6k into the PLO
rebuy.
Still no news on the Harry Demetriou saga. Joe Beevers has not
been playing for the last two days. Maybe he is showing solidarity with Harry
or maybe he is still having a problem with the taxi firm. Harrahs personel are
keeping their lips shut about both this situation and the dealer dispute.
The future clampdown on illegal gambling did not ruffle too many
feathers. After all you still are the nation where "the unspeakable chase the
unedible". However the arrest, at the airport, of the BetonSports CEO has a lot
of the Costa Rica based poker site managers very worried.
