LONDON

Postponed
 Venue
After the interesting debut of this event in the Isle of Man in 2000, the Poker Million has moved to London's main conference hotel, the Metropole (left).

Well positioned at 225 Edgware Road, London, W2 1JU, it is 2 minutes from the nearest London Underground station in Edgware Road (Circle, District, Bakerloo, Hammersmith & City) and only a 5 minute walk from the Paddington Rail station.
The playing room vast and a top quality non-smoking and mobile-phone free space.
 Background
Poker Million was created by the people at Ladbrokes casinos before the chain was sold to Gala Bingo. Roy Hougton, the card room manager at the Russell Square Casino devised many of the ideas that went into the original tournament that was staged at the Hilton Hotel and Casino, Isle of Man, in the year 2000.

Since the casino chain changed corporate ownership the new owners declined to proceed with the tournament ideas and the Poker Million name carries on by virtue of ownership by a new company set up by LadbrokeCasino.com, still a part of Hilton, the company originally in charge of the land based Ladbrokes Casino chain.

Follow the story of the first event in the year 2000 in our special section.
